The new AUTh Library web site is out!

The Library and Information Centre of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh Library) presented last week week its new web site and search engine. Members of the Academic society watched the presentations on the new online services offered by the AUTh Library at the Central Library Amphitheatre.

DataScouting is proud to have worked with the AUTh Library web site team as technical partner providing its expertise on search engine technologies and web site creation and management, to fulfill the high expectations of thousands of visitors of the AUTh Library by designing a user center web site with highly efficient unique features.

“The biggest challenge with this project was to design a unified platform, providing user friendly access to information to thousands of visitors of the AUTh library. I am pleased that we managed to deliver a state-of-the-art product that met all the expectations of the AUTh Library web team, with whom we shared an excellent cooperation,” said Stavros Doropoulos, CIO at DataScouting. “DataScouting has acquired expertise in library discovery systems, valuable for ongoing projects.”

About AUTh
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, founded in 1925, is the largest university in Greece. It comprises seven faculties which consist of 33 schools, five faculties which consist of one school each, as well as four independent schools. Its main campus, in the centre of Thessaloniki, covers an area of about 33.4 hectares. The university has about 81.500 students and some 2150 faculty members.

About AUTh Library
The Library & Information Centre of the Aristotle University is the second largest library in Greece, after the National Library. Since 1976 the library has been a member of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), which enables it to lend and borrow books from libraries all over the world. The library keeps more than 800.000 book titles and 300.000 volumes of periodicals and has a capacity of approximately 1300 students.
