The AMEC Global Summit on Measurementtook place in Asia for the first time with Isentia as a Headline Sponsor. More than 200 delegates from 40 countries from all over the world met in Bangkok from 17 to 18 May. This year’s theme “The Age of Disruptive Communication – Measurement, evaluation and insights in the age of change” highlighted the need to understand the disruption that is happening in communication, how the traditional PR Agency model has changed and how to take advantage of emerging trends and opportunities.

DataScouting at the PDLN Conference in Athens 

DataScouting participated in the Annual Conference of PDLN (Press Database and Licensing Network) that took place in Athens, from 4 to 6 June. The theme of this year’s conference was “Building bridges; connecting global business and global media”. Mrs Sophia Karakeva, Marketing and Communications Executive at DataScouting and currently a FIBEP Vice President, was invited as a speaker to represent FIBEP (world’s media intelligence federation).

DataScouting continues to support TechSaloniki, the new TECH-talk of the town

Following the big success of TechSaloniki last year, DataScouting is happy to support the sequel #2 as a sponsor. TechSaloniki is aiming at becoming the No1 annual skill matching event in information technology in Thessaloniki.

FIBEP hosts WMIC17 in Berlin, 4-6 October 

The 49th FIBEP World Media Intelligence Congress will take place in Berlin, from 4 to 6 October. The overall theme for the congress will be Media Intelligence and the New Paradigm of Brand Communication.

The first speakers have already been announced and the agenda sounds amazing, already. The professional program will include topics related to Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Chatbots, Visual brand communication, Reputation Management, Brand value in sports, Fake news and its impact on communications, Copyright and Privacy and much more.

Say No to AVEs - worldwide push to eradicate AVEs

AMEC has launched a Global Education Campaign to eradicate the use of Advertising Value Equivalency (AVE). AMEC has received support from ICCO and PRCA as well as leading international communication and public relations academics to raise awareness and understanding of the importance of effective valuation methods.

AMEC has already made improvements to its free to use Integrated Evaluation Framework to make it an easier to use replacement for AVEs. As part of the Say No to AVES campaign, AMEC has presented a definitive list of 22 reasons why the AVEs should not be used. 

Last but not least, the Barcelona Principles, being supported by professional PR and communication industry bodies worldwide, state that AVEs are not the value of PR or communication.
