Digitization of rare books and Greek journals by DataScouting

DataScouting along with partners Enimerosi and Typorama has been assigned the digitization of rare books and Greek journals (before 1920) in the framework of the project “Creation of Innovative Digital Library Services of the Library and Information Centre of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki”.

More than one million pages of Greek journals, newspapers and books that have been published until 1920 will be digitized within this project. The material belongs to collections of the Library and Information Centre of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Through the digitization process, this material of rich cultural value will be available online contributing to the neohellenic civilization and to humanistic sciences research and studies.

Besides the digitization and documentation, DataScouting will also provide a clipping service adding value through innovation to the digitized material.

The project started in December 2014 and is expected to be completed in 10 months.
