DataScouting at the IFRRO Athens World Congress
DataScouting participated in the IFRRO World Congress that took place in Athens from 23 to 25 October. IFRRO is the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organization.
The IFRRO Congress this year was about the technological developments and their effect on journalism and media in relation to copyright of right-holders and their collective management. More than 300 delegates from over 50 countries attended the congress. Sophia Karakeva, Communications and Marketing Executive at DataScouting and FIBEP Vice President was invited to present on hate speech, and how is it monitored and tagged in social media.

RESEARCH-CREATE-INNOVATE: New research project awarded to the Aristotle University and DataScouting
In the framework of the Action “RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE”, which is co-financed by National (*) and EU Funds (**), the proposal titled Exploitation of Cultural Assets with computer-assisted Recognition, Labeling and meta-data Enrichment – ECARLE has been approved.
This project aims to create an innovative information platform to automate the recognition, analysis, labeling and metadata enriching of cultural assets, allowing organizations and libraries to easily create new layers of information on existing digitized documents, improving interoperability and reutilization, optimizing the dissemination to both the general public and the specialized researcher.

Maria Laura Garcia is the new FIBEP President
Maria Laura Garcia, the CEO of GlobalNews Group, Argentina, was elected the new FIBEP President at the 50th World Media Intelligence Congress that took place in Copenhagen, from 1 to 3 October.
Eric Karstens (Funding Consultant, EJC), Stavros Vologiannidis (Founder of DataScouting and Professor at the Technological Educational Institute of Central Macedonia) and Sophia Karakeva (CMO, DataScouting) presented about the Health of the Media Conversation: AI to detect and understand harmful speech, during the Social Media Trends session.
The 51th FIBEP World Media Intelligence Congress will be held next year in Lima, Peru, from 5 to 7 November.

AMEC names Johna Burke as new Global Managing Director
