Two new retrospective cataloging projects have been implemented with great success

The scientific team of DataScouting has successfully completed two new retrospective cataloging projects in two important Public Libraries.

The object of the two projects was the supply of bibliographic records structured according to the Unimarc implementation standard, which were created in ILS OpeABEKT and ILS Koha, and have enriched the bibliographic catalog of the Central Public Library of Mytilini and the Public Historical Library of Zagora, respectively. The bibliographic records describe an equal number of items, both bibliographic and thematic.

The bibliographic description of the items was completed according to the descriptive cataloging rules of AACR2 and the ISBD bibliographic description standards, while the thematic description was implemented according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System (DDC) and the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH).
