The scientific team of DataScouting successfully carried out another retrospective cataloguing project at the Public Historical Library of Dimitsana.
The aim of the project was to procure 5,800 bibliographic records structured according to the Unimarc implementation provision, which were created in ILS Koha and have enriched the catalogue of the Public Historical Library of Dimitsana. The bibliographic records describe an equal number of documents, both bibliographically and thematically.
The bibliographic description of the documents was made in accordance with the descriptive cataloguing rules of AACR2 and the isbd bibliographic description standards, while the thematic description in terms of classification, due to the specificity and rare historical value of the material and at the request of the contracting authority, was made in accordance with the internal, local taxonomic system of the library and the list of thematic headings of the Library of Congress (LCSH).DataScouting has completed similar projects of retrospective cataloguing in a number of public and academic libraries in recent years.
